Anti-nuclear protests in Vilnius, July 16, 2010
Environmental and social activists from Lithuania, Belarus and Finland organized small public action in front of Polish Embassy and European Commission Representation in Vilnius, Lithuania on 16 July 2010.
Action was part of the Baltic Sea Anti-nuclear Info Tour programme. Main concerns were raised and presented to the representatives of Embassy, that people are concerned about controversial nuclear energy development plans of Polish and EU authorities, especially building if final spent nuclear fuel storage on the Baltic Sea coast.
Baltic Sea is the most radioactive sea in the world, as experts concluded in their recent report to the Helsinki Commission for protection of the Baltic Marine Environment.
